The year 2020 changed so many things around us. Some of those things were painful and tragic while others were enlightening and joyful. One change that I loved was the level of authenticity we started to share with one another. TV shows were being filmed from peoples homes. Our pets and kids interrupted our work calls. It felt like the curtain had been pulled back.
It made me appreciate people in a deeper way.
When I could see how similar our experiences were, it made me feel better about my experiences. It made me feel less alone. So I created a space where we talk about our real lives, both the messy and the beautiful parts.
On each episode of Hello I Am Human, I’m talking with creative people that inspire me with the honesty they bring to their music, their art, their food, or just how they live their lives.
We talk about their work and what inspires them. How they are evolving in this season. The labels that they proudly wear and they ones they’ve thrown away. We talk about their little joys and giant failures, and so many other things that make us all human.
My hope is that, through these conversations, we’ll help each other see that we’re not alone. That we all go through so many of the same things. Maybe then we can start being kinder to ourselves and to each other and together, we can make the world a little better for all humans.
Your Host
I’m Sarah Neczwid. I’m a musician, writer, spiritual seeker, lesbian, wife, parent; the list could go on. Beyond all of those labels I wear, I am human just like you. I know that our quirks, our questions, our fears, laughs, heartaches, and good intentions are more alike than we might realize. We’re all just doing our best, getting it wrong, trying again, and sometimes… making something magical.
